Iain specialises in litigation support and expert witness assignments, in particular those involving business valuations or related issues and has testified in UK and Singapore courts.
In addition to being a qualified chartered accountant in both England (ICAEW) and Singapore (ISCA), Iain is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds their Diploma as well as the ICAEW’s Corporate Finance Diploma. He is a member of the American Society of Appraisers and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, two of the leading business valuation professional bodies, and has passed both bodies’ business valuation accreditation exams. He is also an associate member of the Society of Share and Business Valuers and an Individual Member of the Expert Witness Institute.
He has extensive experience in fraud and asset forfeiture proceedings and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Proceeds of Crime Lawyers Association. He was involved in the successful defence of a senior director of the Imperial Consolidated Group of companies and also gained prosecution experience during a secondment to the Serious Fraud Office.
Iain has worked on a number of disputes in the shipping sector, including the valuation of vessels salved under Lloyds Open Form contract and he is a supporting member of the London Maritime Arbitration Association.
In addition to his litigation practice Iain is also familiar with business interruption insurance. Following the flooding in late 2011 he spent over a year working mostly in Thailand handling claims with values up to $200 million for local and global insurers.
