Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified accountant with an interest in pursuing a career in forensic accounting.

The tasks performed will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data
  • Physical inventory observation, price testing
  • Verification of claim to source documents
  • Checking and proofing reports and schedules
  • Conduct phone or in person interviews to obtain information
  • Research
  • Data input
  • Invoice analysis
  • Attend marketing events and functions with clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters
  • Working towards an accounting designation
  • Up to 3 years work experience (post degree)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Must be able to work under pressure or tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand a business and how loss events have impacted it
  • Willingness to accept increasing responsibility as experience grows
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Additional language skills considered an asset

Supervisor: Toronto, ON

Our Toronto office is currently seeking a Supervisor to join our team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified accountant with an interest in pursuing a career in forensic accounting.

Working with the MDD team, the ideal candidate would be responsible for the management and completion of assignments; attending client meetings and communicating the results of your analysis; and, supervising junior level accountants. In addition to file work, this position offers the opportunity for a role in new business development and maintaining current clients.

There may be some expectation of travel with this position, depending on the nature of the assignments.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA or CMA)
  • Secondary designation (CBV, IFA, CFF or CFE) or substantial completion of a secondary designation
  • Up to 5 year’s post designation experience
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to manage junior accountant level staff
  • Well-developed analytical, writing and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Motivated to exceed client expectations and develop leadership skills
  • Prior experience with litigation, business valuation and/or forensic accounting assignments
  • Additional language skills considered an asset

Our Toronto office is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified accountant with an interest in pursuing a career in forensic accounting.

The tasks performed will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data
  • Physical inventory observation, price testing

  • Interview of insured’s or claimant representative relative to each assignment
  • Prepare preliminary draft of report narrative and schedules
  • Analyze and reconcile claim to final calculation
  • Perform certain field review related tasks without direct supervision
  • Develop preliminary assignment program

  • Attend marketing events and functions with clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters
  • Recently designated or working towards CPA designation (must have successfully passed the CFE)

Chartered Business Valuator: Montreal, QC

Our Montreal office has an immediate opening for a manager level Chartered Business Valuator to join our team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified business valuator to join our Montreal office.  The focus of this position will be on litigation matters and assisting on significant insurance assignments.  Working within the MDD group, the ideal candidate would be responsible for the management and completion of assignments.  Attending client meetings and communicating the results of your analysis in an expert report will be required.  This position will involve a role in new business development and maintaining current clients. Business development plans will be developed with, and assisted by, our business development and marketing team.

There is some expectation of travel with this position, depending on the nature of the assignment.  In addition, given the nature of our work and practice, there are many opportunities for domestic and international travel.

Requirements:

  • CPA & CBV designation
  • Thorough understanding of business valuations and related litigation support
  • Well-developed analytical, computer (proficiency in Excel and Word) and writing skills
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Bilingual – verbal and written English and French
