We were asked by an independent adjusting firm and insurers to review the economic damages claimed in relation to a course of construction claim on a major hydro-electric generating project. The project was delayed for several months as a result of the failure of a cofferdam which was allowing construction work to be completed.
Our role included assessing the loss related to the repair costs claim. We were required to analyze the construction project in detail to make an appropriate determination as to the costs related to the repairs versus the normal costs that would have been incurred in any event. As a result of our work, we were able to assist the parties in resolving the matter prior to the commencement of litigation.
