Cyber Attack – CDK Global

CDK Global, a prominent software provider for the automotive industry, suffered major consecutive cyber attacks to its dealer management systems in June. More than 15,000 auto dealership locations throughout North America that rely on CDK Global’s services were affected. All business operations were severely impacted, including interruptions to service and repair orders, new sales and financing, insurance, leasing, inventory, payroll, customer relationship management, and other administrative functions.

In addition to measuring Business Interruption losses, MDD Forensic Accountants can work with affected parties to ensure proper documentation processes are in place and help manage the client throughout the quantification process.

• CDK has affected dealers in various ways depending on how they utilized the system.
