Dean is a Partner/Senior Vice President in MDD Forensic Accountants’ Calgary office, where he specializes in providing disputes analysis, quantification of economic losses, valuations, forensic accounting and litigation support work.
Dean’s professional practice focuses on matters arising from a wide range of disputes which include breach of contract, shareholder disputes, matrimonial disputes, intellectual property infringement/ misrepresentation/ negligence (and other civil torts), and expropriations.
He has participated in assignments in a broad spectrum of industries such as oil and gas, power generation and distribution, agriculture, commercial real-estate, retail, wholesale, construction, hotels and resorts, restaurants, pharmaceuticals, financial services and manufacturing.
Dean has qualified as an expert witness, and is experienced in providing testimony in that capacity for the Court of Queen’s Bench, Alberta. Dean has also been involved with numerous arbitrations and mediations.
Dean regularly conducts seminars and workshops on the topics of business valuation, quantiﬁcation of economic losses, guideline income calculations, and ﬁnancial statement preparation and accounting.
He earned his Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business.
