Mari joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Houston office in 1998. In 2002, she left to work with her largest client as an Energy Loss Adjuster. From 2009 to 2013, she was employed as an Energy Claims Broker at a global insurance brokerage firm. Mari returned to MDD’s Houston office in 2014 where she is now a Senior Manager.
Her professional practice concentrates on physical damages, business interruption, extra expenses, lost profits, natural disasters, fidelity claims, specialty risks and energy matters. She has also been involved in the catastrophe services area, having handled claims resulting from hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, earthquakes and terrorist attacks.
Mari has vast experience quantifying economic damages in the energy sector. She has handled both onshore and offshore claims, including losses related to wells, platforms, tank batteries, refineries, gas plants, ports, terminals, shipyards and electric transmission and distribution systems.
In addition, she has been engaged on assignments in the construction, retail and wholesale, hospitality, mining, power generation and petrochemical industries. She has also worked on projects in the professional services and utility sectors.
Mari has provided litigation support services to many of her clients.
She has presented seminars and workshops on business interruption and catastrophe losses at the Pipe Line Insurance Managers Conference.
Mari graduated from the University of Houston – Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
